Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is your favorite post on the Internet today, at this time, on this website, Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net! Join me as I point out some fun things I came across on my journey of the World Wide Web!

First up!

Link really really needs a new shield at all costs! Animator Callegos-y created a new fan film showing Link earn that shield.

Seems right on par with Link being a dick.

Next up!

The react channel on Youtube put kids up against Contra!

Man, they are not good at all.

Last but not least

Rizz hit me with this “money glitch” on GTA

I wonder how many people actually fell for this…..

That’s all the time I have for this week’s edition of Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net! Tune in next week for another leg of my journey!

Game 71: Contra III: The Alien Wars

Contra III: The Alien Wars
Konami
1992

Alright boys and girls, it’s time to strap in and conquer some aliens and protect the earth and what not…. Although, dont bother trying to konami kode your way to the top on this one. Unless you have the Japanese version of the game the code is useless.

You find yourself once again protecting the earth from alien invaders however this time, they mean busy. They are sending everything but the kitchen sink, mainly because i dont think aliens have kitchens… im probably wrong about this but who knows.  Anyways, its the year 2636 and the baddies are back at it. Bill and Lance have since retired, so enther Jimbo and Sully. They’ll be your tour guides through hell and back.

As far as the story goes thats it. As with most run and guns there isnt much for story. That would distract from the simplistic nature of these types of games. Therfore, they found other ways to advance the game play. New weapon types: Whip Flame Gun, Crusher Missles and Homing Missles amongst others. Also the palyer also now carry bombs that will destroy just about all the enemies on the screen.  The levels are also now interactive in some parts. You can grab poles and ceilings to climb across. You are able to also destroy buildings and scenery and even hijack tanks.

Along with the side scrolling there is also a couple top view stages in the game. the player stays point in the direction they are facing and the direction pad moves them pointed that way. you can change the facing direction with the l and r buttons. The graphics for the snes were just enough to handle this for one player meaning that instead of being able to have two players on these levels it goes to a split screen and each player must do it on their own.

Chachi Says: As far as installments go this does what it is supposed to do. Gives a new version of a classic game and does not fail in doing so. Advancements are made where they could and should be made and its an enjoyable playing experience for those Run and Gun fans.
