Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net!

People of the Internet, Lend me your ears and join me on my journey of a few things I found while browsing the ‘net this week! It’s time for this week’s edition of Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net!

First off this week, We revisit the “Tiny Titan”. This glitch that I pointed out last week featured a player in Madden being programmed as 1’2” tall in game. Since the glitch has been fixed, however not before EA took full advantage of the mistake. After patching the issue they had a weekend full of defensive challenges with the Tiny player. They also did this new trailer for Madden.

Way to go EA(not too often we get to say that!), good job using the mistake as a social media marketing tool!

Next up, tribute to Robin Williams number 8,923,712,943 done by a user in Art academy

williamsIt’s probably one of the best out there.

Last but not least this week. As you know(or don’t )the Fine Bros have a react series of videos of kids reacting to different things. This week its Teens react to the Nintendo!

They brought up Legend of Zelda and I cringed at their reactions. I dislike kids. We are so old.

That’s all I have for you for this week on Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net! Tune in next week as I teach you how to fly!

Air Castle blows away turned into a Katamari remix:

Robin Williams in World of Warcraft?!

As was everybody in the world, we were aghast when the news broke about the untimely death of Mr. Robin Williams. To say that this man is amazing in every form would be an understatement: He was an amazing comedian. He was an amazing comedic actor. He was an amazing dramatic actor. He was an amazing voice actor. He was an amazing human being and, for the purposes of this conversation, the man was a great gamer.

Everyone knows that commercial that featured him telling his daughter, Zelda, the story of The Legend of Zelda.

However, during an interview in 2011 he mentioned that he was an avid gamer. So much so that he called video games “cyber-crack”. The three games that he enjoyed are the three games that you would think an intelligent mind would like: Portal, Call of Duty and World of Warcraft.

For celebrities to be that open and that awesome FOR video games is something that isn’t really seen all that much. It’s quite awesome.

As mentioned on Boss Battle, a day after his passing, the gaming community came together in a petition to have Robin Williams immortalized in video game form, as an NPC in one of the games that he loved to frequent, World of Warcraft. The Change.org petition asked the makers if they would put him in the game and feature some of the best comedic lines that the late comedian had in stand-up.

In response to this petition, they responded as such: “We’re taking care of it”. Those five words made me smile. If I know that Robin Williams will be in this game, Robin Williams will have to be hiding somewhere inconspicuous because there would just be a crowd of players that surround the NPC in order to hear his jokes again and again and again and again.

Also, on a forum there are some Zelda fans who would like to see the next Legend of Zelda game dedicate something in Mr. Williams’ name. However, with something like that looking bleak (because Nintendo doesn’t really dedicate their games or any characters in games too much), there is a group of Zelda fans that will donate some of their money to the Williams’ Windfall charity.

I don’t have a WoW account, but this news just may change that for me.

Thank you, Mr. Williams. See you around World of Warcraft.
