It is the day of the week where I share the things I’ve stumbled upon during my journeys! Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net! I pick them and place them in my basket and then sort and give you the ones I feel are best! So let’s get to it shall we?
Smosh games put up another Honest Trailers. This time Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time!
“And cringe as his Microsoft paperclip of a sidekick runs its mouth the whole F*&^ing game!” so incredible!
Next up we have an incredibly talented violinist plays along with the original Mario Bros.
Last but not least, What if Facebook status wars were turned in a Street Fighter type game? Wonder no longer friends!
That’s all I have for you this week on Video game themed things from around the Internet…net…net! Be sure to tune in next week, I’m sure I’ll have some great things for you!
There is one common denominator that many gamers, including myself, can clearly say hate the most while playing multiplayer games, like Call of Duty. Snipers, everyone hates them. You hate them. I hate them. Everyone hates them. I’m pretty sure other snipers even hate snipers. Just me saying the term “sniper” probably sent chills down your spine. Well, get ready. I’m about to be your worst enemy. Here are MY Top 5 most annoying things in video games.
5. Loading Times – Back in our day (yes, I know how old that makes me feel to say) we didn’t have to worry about loading times. All we had to do was plug and play. However, now with the better technology and better graphics and better just about everything, there had to be a part of that where it all had to load. During the booming age of disc tech, there were loading times.
Some of which, I’m looking at you Sonic Adventures and Sonic 06, abused the hell out of it and every time you decided to go on to the next mission, the loading screen will allow you to get up and go grab a drink of water or watch your favorite TV show or, you know, do something else other than play your favorite level, Loading Screen, all day. All I want to do is play as Big the Cat, Sega! Is that too hard to ask!? IS IT?! IS IT!? IS IT SO HARD THAT I WANT TO GO AND PLAY A GAME WITHOUT GETTING OLD WHILE WATCHING THE DAMN THING TELLING ME IT IS LOADING? I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME!
4. Dark Souls 2 Deaths – Now, I’m going to be real honest here. You’re going to die in Dark Souls. There’s no way around it. Hell, when you die the first time in Dark Souls 2, you receive an achievement saying “This Is Dark Souls” taunting your every move, mocking you, showing you how many people have died over the few months that it had been in stores and in people’s boxes.
With that being said, there are times where dying can get annoying. For instance, while facing a demon boss in one of the fire levels, it seems easy enough. Boss is slow, able to dodge out of his attacks and attack him. However, roll once to your left too much or your right too much and YOU’RE DEAD! D-E-A-D! Dead! Then you try again…and do the same thing again, only by rolling forward. Gah!
But that’s just a boss, you’re suppose to die there. How about in the peaceful land of Majula? Your home away from home and the place where EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE decide Oh, hey little piggies! Where’s your houses at? I don’t see any straw or twig houses. Hey, what- OMFG! I’M DEAD?! HOW!? WHAT THE HELL!? I DIDN’T EVEN HIT THEM! PIGS ARE DICKS!
3. Oddjob – You had that friend. You know, THAT friend. That friend invites you over to his house for some good ol’ fashioned 007: GoldenEye on the N64…and that son of a biscuit chooses Oddjob. In slaps. If you don’t know “that friend” then, sorry to tell you, YOU ARE THAT FRIEND AND YOU SHOULDN’T BE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES OR HAVE FRIENDS BECAUSE YOU ARE A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE FRIEND! WHY DON’T YOU LET ME BE ODDJOB?! EVERY TIME I TRY TO BE ODDJOB ALL I GOT WAS “NO ODDJOB!” YET YOU GET TO CHOOSE ODDJOB! JERK!
2. Blue Turtle Shells – This one hits a little home for me, you see. If you have followed Chachi Plays, you would know that I am one of the best Mario Kart players in America, if not the World. I have a pretty expensive and pretty awesome championship belt to prove it. It’s on a display in my house, lights up every night. I am pretty damn awesome, when you think about it.
Things would have gone a lot smoother, though, if those damn blue spikey shells were nowhere to be found. You could be leading in a race, 3rd lap, about to cross the finish line and out of the blue some dude in the back of the pack gets the blue shell and takes you out letting someone like Baby Mario squeeze by for 1st place.
But that’s not why it’s on this list, oh no. That would be too easy. You could be a close 3rd, see the shell coming while you pass to be #2 ONLY TO BE TAKEN OUT BY THE BLAST RADIUS FROM HELL! HOW THE HELL IS THAT FAIR?! I’M NOT IN FIRST PLACE! THAT SHELL SHOULD ONLY TAKE OUT THE PERSON WHO IS IN FIRST! HELL, MAYBE MAKE IT HALF THE GIGANTIC RIDICULOUS RADIUS TO MAKE IT EVEN MORE FUN! BUT NO! YOU HAVE NOT ONLY EFFED MY CHANCES AT BEING FIRST BUT YOU ALSO EFFED MY CHANCES AT PLACING! THANKS WARIO, I HOPE YOU LIKED KNOWING THAT YOU SCREWED THAT UP FOR ME!
Out of everything that annoys me about video games, there is just one thing worse than all of the ones that I just mentioned. One annoyance that is just annoying to no end. It takes the fun out of playing the game just by its existence and it’s. Always. A. Thing. No matter what you do and when you think you’re fin-
1. HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER! – COME ON! I WAS SO CLOSE TO BEATING M. BISON! I DON’T WANT TO PLAY ANYONE RIGHT NOW! I WANT TO FIGHT THE CPU BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO BE ANNOYED BY SOMEONE WHO WILL PROBABLY PICK BLANKA AND MASH THE SAME BUTTON OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO DO THAT ELECTRIC MOVE OVER AND OVER AGAIN! THAT NEVER GETS OLD! OH WAIT! IT DOES! IT GETS OLD AFTER THE FIRST 4 TIMES YOU DID IT!
NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK AND START THAT MATCH OVER AGAIN BECAUSE I WAS INTERRUPTED BY SOMEONE WHO JUST BUTTON MASHES ONE BUTTON OVER AND OVER AGAIN?!

Well it looks like Dr. Mario has decided to stop practicing medicine and start making drugs! Reports out of Belgium have reported that a new pill has made its way into the club scene and its been branded Nintendo. Move over Mollie! Nintendo is here. Apparently, The pill Nintendo is a high dosage form of Ecstasy. So…. Looks like “Wanna play Nintendo?” Will have a whole new meaning! Heres what the pill looks like allegedly.
Remember kids, hugs not drugs!
Next up is Man Factory. Do not change the channel based on name alone…. Man Factory. So an indie group from Texas got together and decided that based on the amount of material there is they could compose a rock opera based on Street Fighter… Yeah, i said Street Fighter. The series has taken 6 years and spreads across 3 albums. Take a look at the Round One track listing. I have to say that its not too bad at all. The First round is available for Name your price. The Second and third are available for a mere 7 dollars and its band camp so you can listen before you decide to buy. Track listing is a link so click it to get to the bands page!
Last but not least if you turned into the Stadium series yesterday in the US or were there live than you caught a peek at the newest team up between Rovio and the NHL. Presenting The NHL Hockeybird…..
Utilizing voice activation, the more the crowd cheers the better he does at Jumbo screen mini games. So cheer your hearts out so that Hockeybird gets the high score… or you know, don’t and watch the game. Up to you really.
You see something that is video game themed and weird? toss this way so we can share it!

This weekend the Fighting game championship event called EVO was held, Many great things happened such as Nintendo caving in and letting Super Smash Brothers Melee stream for the first time ever, Which became the biggest stream in EVO’s history, But the tournaments weren’t the only great thing about the weekend! A new Street Fighter IV expansion was revealed called Ultra Street Fighter IV.
The update will feature 5 New Characters, Poison, Rolento, Hugo, Elana and a character to be named later that Capcom has said is a character that has never appeared in a Street Fighter game before. (Possibly Hagar) It will also feature re-balanced gameplay based on Fan Feedback. The update will be out sometime in 2014 and will cost $14.99 for the DLC and $39.99 for the full game. Who are you most excited about being in the game?
One of the longest running games turned 25 last Thursday! As you know, they are celebrating this by having the 25 Year Anniversary Collection but this past weekend was the day they turned that old.
Yikes, I feel old. I’m a month older than this epic video game franchise. The fact that this game revolutionized the general fighting game and, with Mortal Kombat, gave gamers in the 90’s an AWESOME decade for fighting games.
When the words “Street Fighter” are put together, thoughts of the 90’s and M. Bison, Ryu and Ken, Zangief and Blanka roll through my head and thoughts of sitting in front of the SNES and, for hours, play your friend to see who the better gamer is out of the two. Also, however, the Street Fighter series was, probably, the first game where gaming trolls loved to play. Zangief’s Spinning Lariats, E. Honda’s Flying Palms of Death, Ryu’s Hydouken and Blanka’s Electric Shock over and over and over and over and over and over again gets REALLY annoying.
You know what’s even worse than having your friends trolling you with the Spinning Lariat? Later on, Street Fighter (just like EVERY OTHER GAME) adopted online gaming! And if you thought your friends were bad at this, wait until you see people who you have never met before kick your ass doing the same move over and over again.
Again, I’m nitpicking because you can’t really get mad at this game. It’s still awesome! And, for 25 years, the same group of characters are in the same fighting game and STILL doesn’t need to have a facelift in order for it to be a great game no matter what system it’s on.
In the history of Street Fighter, there has been 58 playable characters. Abel, Adon, Akuma, Alex, Balrog, Birdie, M. Bison, Blanka, C. Jack, Cammy White, Charlie, Chun-Li, Cody, Dan, Dee Jay, Dhalism, Dudley, E. Honda, Eagle, El Fuerte, Elena, Evil Ryu, Fei Long, Geki, Gen, Gill, Gouken, Guile, Guy, Hakan, Hugo, Ibuki, Ingrid, Joe, Juli, Juni, Juri, Karin, Ken, Lee, M. Bison, Maki, Makoto, Mike, Necro, Oni, Oro, Poison, Q, R. Mika, Remy, Retsu, Rolento, Rose, Rufus, Ryu, Sagat, Sakura, Sean, Seth, Sodom, T. Hawk, Twelve, Urien, Vega, Yang, Yun and, of course, Zangief.
Also if you don’t think this is the greatest moment in movie history, you’re lying out your teeth.
Our friends over at Capcom have announced that they will be releasing a Street Fighter X Tekken Mobile game for the iOS over the summer.
Based on the critically acclaimed home console release, but with a complete redesign of controls and UI with mobile devices in mind, Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile also features brand new modes and a new take on the tag team mechanic. The balanced character roster includes Ryu and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series, and Kazuya and Nina from the Tekken series.
Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile will be compatible with iOS 5 or higher, and will be playable on iPhone 4 and 4S, iPod touch 4th Gen or later, iPad 2 and the New iPad.
Think this would be worth it? Kicking ass on the go? let us know in the comments below!
With the announcement of a Shadow of the Colossus movie this past week, It’s lead me to start thinking of what games would be awesome movies, and what movies would be awesome games. So today I’ve picked out 3 of each. 3 Games that I think would be great movies even though they may not have a fleshed out story much like Shadow of the Colossus really didn’t have a fleshed out story. I really wonder how they’re going to bring the game to the screen since there isn’t much dialogue, but it will make a pretty interesting and emotional story much like the game did, if done right. So here are the 3 games I would love to see become movies.
I know what you’re thinking, There are a ton of Vampire movies out there, why do we need another one, The story of the Belmont’s is an amazing story in video games, I think that Simon Belmont the star of Castlevania 2 Simon’s quest would be a great story to tell as it was one of my favorite games growing up playing the NES. I can still feel the chills I got when the game turned from day to night and Simon became cursed. The game was very hard but the action was intense and I think if handled right it would become an amazing movie.
Historicallly in video game to movie conversion Fighting games have not been the best source material. Mortal Kombat was a decent enough movie, however the 2nd Mortal Kombat movie wasn’t as well received. Street Fighter had many attempts but all failed and Tekken tried as well without success. I think Soul Calibur could do well with the right director and writers. The story of Soul Calbur is a bit tangled as a video game even, but with the amazing characters the game features I think a movie could work.
Metal Gear Solid
All of the Metal Gear games are basically movies that you can play as a game from time to time, but I’d still love to see a live action version of Snake taking on the unique boss characters that he’s fought over the years. Imagine a scene with The End, or The Fear in a movie. I think that would be amazing, not to mention the crazy fights and settings the game has.
Now I want to take some time to pick 3 movies that I’d like to see be made into a video game.
Imagine going through someone’s mind, each level of the dream is a new level of the game, I’m not sure why Inception hasn’t become a game already. The giant folding city, the gun battle in the hotel and the final level would all be great levels of a game, and the bullet time like action sequences would play out well on consoles.
Grindhouse was an amazing theatrical experience when it came out in theaters, one of the best movie experiences I’ve had watching a movie actually. I Think that would translate well to a video game. Planet Terror was a great game and had a strong cast of characters like Cherry and El Ray. Imagine fighting the zombies from that movie. Also DeathProof would be a great racing/ car chase game. The trailers could also serve as mini games, also Machete could be thrown in as well since it’s technically a part of the Grindhouse world.
Sucker Punch was pretty much a video game on screen. Each dream sequence that babydoll had was a huge boss fight or just fight in general. Whether it was fighting a giant dragon, samurai warriors, or undead steampunk zombies, the movie had enough action to translate well into the world of video games.
Now that I’ve said my piece it’s your turn, What are some games or movies you’d like to see make the leap to the other medium. Let us know in the comments!
